Kids Travel Tickets with the Imagine

Good evening , hope your weekend is going swell.  We have been outside much of the day playing in the great weather.  So the project I have for you today is an idea I got off the web.  In about a week I will be putting my kids and the dog in the car to make the 14 hour trek to my parents house.  That is 14 without stopping, did I mention it will be only me???  I am a bit nervous about the drive.  I have been scouring the web for ideas on how to keep the kids entertained without the mindless DVD player.  I came across the idea to give the kids tickets that signify how much time has passed, that way they have a way of quantifying how much time is left in the trip.  Being the crafty person that I am I couldn't just go and by raffle tickets, I wanted to make it a little more festive and fun.  So here is what I came up with:

So the jist is that I will give each of my daughters 16 tickets (I am being wishful) and every hour I will ask them to give me a ticket.  Then they can count how many are left to see how much longer we have to go.  On the set for my older daughter I put the numbers 1 - 16 on the back so that she can practice her number recognition.  Hopefully this will keep them entertained a little???

Ticket Recipe:

• Ticket base cut from stamp on Elegant Edges at 2.2"h x 2.8"w
• Top ticket cut from stamp on Elegant Edges at 1.8"h x 2.2"w
• Font from Kate's ABCs cut at 1" and welded in CCR

I used the Imagine to get the colors which are from I came I saw I created weekly color challenge.  Love how bright they came out.  So I will have a few more travel related projects coming up next week.  Hope you have enjoyed and thanks for stopping by.

Shaped Father's Day Card with CCR

Good evening,
Hope all has been well.  We have been enjoying the wonderfully mild weather here.  Although it has been so mild the pool has been too cold, so I have had to find other ways to entertain the kids.  But it is better than it being scorching hot.  So today I have for you a shaped Father's Day card.  I got the inspiration from the Fantabulous Cricut design team.  I have always wanted to try a word art card and the word Dad seemed like to perfect fit.  So here it is:

Card Recipe:

• Font and Font Shadow is from Birthday Bash cut at 3"
• Chair is from Life is a Beach cut at 1.9"
• Sentiment from Simply Charmed cut at 2"
• Crop-a-dile for the eyelets
• Ribbon from Michaels

So to do this card you need either the Cricut Craft Room, which is free, or a Gypsy.  The key in CCR is to not use the font feature.  Select each letter from the cartridge images.  You need to do this because to create the base of the card you need to edit the actual letter image.  In CCR you choose edit image and then hide the inside cuts.  (I realize I am not explaining this very well and really should do a video on this).  You need to do this on each of the letters (Font Shadow) for the base card and then weld the letters together.  Then just cut the Font separately to adhere to the card.  If anyone needs help with this leave me a comment and I will do a video with step by step instructions.

A Bunny Birthday

Good evening all.  I hope your week has gotten off to a good start.  Ours has been really good.  I started the week by making a couple meals including enough breakfast burritos to last two weeks.  This week should be really easy with all this prep!!

So today I have a craft done for a good friend.  Her son's 2nd birthday was last week and she asked me to make a banner with the words " Some Bunny is Two".  I think the banner came out really great, one of the best ones that I have done.  I also wanted to do a card for the birthday boy in the same theme.  Below is what I came up with.

Banner Recipe:

• Card stock from DCWV stack
• Font from Kate's ABC's cut at 2.5"
• Bunny from Kate's ABC's cut at 3.75"
• Circle banner from Birthday Bash cut at 6.25"
• Triangle banner from Birthday Bash cut at 6.35"
• Ribbon from Michaels

Card Recipe:

• Rabbit from Create-a-Critter cut at 6"
• Used the Craft Room to create two rabbits, one flipped horizontally and then both welded together
• Sentiment written with a brown calligraphy pen
• Card stock from DCWV stack

Homemade Sticker Books

I hope you are having a great weekend.  My weekend started out great with a fun fitness class with some girlfriends.  I am a little bit sore today but that just means I had a really good workout right!!!  So the project I am sharing today is an idea I came up with after my 4 year old kept complaining that she had nowhere to put the stickers that she would get from places like the doctor's office.  So I made my kids and a friends kids these sticker books for Christmas.  They were easy to make after I had decided what image was appropriate and personal to each child.

Each book is just a simple composition notebook that measures 9.5 in by 7.75 in.  I cut the paper from my own scrap sheets and used zip dry to adhere it to the covers.  I also covered the spines and backs of the notebooks in a similar fashion.  Here are larger individual images with the sizes and cartridges for the Cricut cuts.

The font is Character from Printing Press cut at 1.4" and 1.2".  The princess is from Princess Party cut at 4".

The font is also Character from Printing Press cut at 1.7" and 1.5".  The frog is from Create a Critter cut at 3.5".

The font is from Birthday Bash cut at 1.3" and 1".  The game controller is from Wrap it Up cut at 3".

The font is from Birthday Bash cut at 1.5" and 1".  The caterpillar is from Create a Critter cut at 3".  And last but not least...

The font is Monogram from Once Upon a Princess cut at 1".  The girl is Doll 3 from Once Upon a Princess cut at 3.5".  Her outfit is Dress 1 cut at 3.5 in.

All the Cricut cuts were designed using the Cricut CraftRoom.  I hope you enjoy these projects and have a great weekend.
