Crafting Away

So I have been doing some crazy crafting the last two days.  I can't share anything yet as I have not finished everything.  As I mentioned last week both my girls birthdays' are in October so I have been designing and crafting for their party and individual birthday day celebrations.  I also may not share something right away because I have some exciting news.  I have been asked to be a guest designer on another blog.  I am not going to share which one yet but stay tuned.  I want to pick the perfect project to do for the guest blog post.  Anyhow just wanted to check in and let you know what I have been doing.  Below is a preview pick of one of my projects that is not complete yet.  Please excuse the messiness of the table, as it was almost midnight when I took the picture and way too tired to clean up the mess at that point.  Hope you enjoy!!!

Life's Moments and Birthday Invites

Hi all

We have had alot going on around our house.  This past weekend my husband converted my baby girl's crib into a big girl bed.  He did this without my knowledge while I was out for a couple hours.  When I came home and found the bed converted I nearly cried from shock.  I wanted my baby to stay little forever and the reality is that she is growing up and getting bigger.  I was also a little scared of what the night time would bring but she has done wonderful about staying in bed and going to sleep.  Here is a litle pic of her proud as can be in her new bed.

And now onto the next thing that shows she and her big sister are getting older, the birthday invites.  Both my girls were born in October so this year since they are turning two and four we have decided that we will have one party to celebrate both occasions.  We just feel that we can't ask our family and friends to travel twice in one month for birthday celebrations.  So I have been working tirelessly on the invitations and finally got them finished.  Here is the invitation that I created.

We are having the celebration at a local fall festival so I thought pumpkin invites would be appropriate.  It took me two hours one night just to cut all the pieces and another two hours to assemble all the pumpkins.  In the future I may need to puck an easier cut for mass production projects like this.  Also my friend Angela showed me a super neat trick about attaching the ribbon.  She showed me that you can just run your tape runner down the back of the ribbon and it will stick pretty well to the paper.  I was going to use my Xyron machine and cut all the pieces down to size.  That would have taken forever so I am very grateful for this new method.  Anyhow I hope you enjoy the pics.  I now have to start working on the party decorations and such.  Have a wonderful day!!!

Crafting Cabin

Hey all

Over the Labor day weekend my family shared a lake house cabin with some good friends of ours.  I brought all the crafting stuff my car could handle with the intentions of getting my daughters' birthday invitations done.  Well my girlfriend and I didn't get much crafting in due to a Twilight diversion.  Those movies are just so darn good and we had to get schooled up before the next one comes out.

On the last night after all the kiddos had gone to bed we finally broke out the supplies and decided to make some cards to give our kids on their first day of school.  Here is a picture of our messy set-up.

So I decided to make some cutsy cards for my girls instead of a back to school theme.  We don't have to go buy supplies yet so I thought they might not get a back-to-school theme.  The card I made Charlotte was based on her favorite dessert and the card for Corianne was based on her favorite animal.  The recipes follow the pictures.
Recipe:
  • 6" x 6" cardstock
  • Patterned paper is DCWV from The Sweet Stack
  • Cupcake:  Once upon a Princess - cupcake3 at 3.75"
  • Stamped Sentiment:  My Pink Stamper - Sweetest Cupcakes
Recipe:
  •  6" x 6"
  • Cat:  Create a Critter - cat2 at 3.5"
  • I luv u:  Create a Critter - Koala Phrase at 1.5"
  • Crown: Once Upon a Princess at 1"
  • Stamped Sentiment: My Pink Stamper - Family & Friends
So those were the cards for my girls and I gave Charlotte's to her today.  She said she loved it very much.  The cards my girlfriend Angela made were also super cute.  I am hoping that she will do a guest post on her cards sometime soon, when her life has calmed a bit!!!  Did you do anything crafty for your kids back-to-school?  Drop me a comment to let me know.  I love new ideas!!

Blog Hop Fun

I just participated in My Pink Stamper's pinkalicious blog hop and it was so much fun.  The projects were 3D based on back to school.  It was really fun to see all the creative projects and gave me some really great ideas!!!
I will be posting some projects of my own I made for my girls going back to school.  Not 3D though unless you consider using pot dots 3D :)

Anniversary Card

Hi everyone and Happy post Labor day.  I hope everyone had a really great weekend.  The project that I have for you today was done a while ago but I didn't want to post it until I actually delivered it.  This past weekend was my wedding anniversary.  My wonderful husband and I have been married for 7 years!!!!  The time just really flies by when you are having fun.  So I made my hubby a card to show him how much I loved him.  I really love the way the card came out and he really enjoyed it.
I don't really have a recipe for the card.  I think the heart was cut from the Gypsy Wanderings cartridge and the sentiments were just random clearance bin stamp sets.  Hope you enjoy.

Thank You Card

Hi all
I had mentioned a while back that I had mad a thank you card for my sister in-law.  I can finally post it because I think that she has received it.  I didn't want to post it until she had received it because sometimes she does read my blog.  Anyway here it is...

The ribbon was the inspiration for the card colors.  I also got to use my new Cuttlebug that my wonderful husband got me for my birthday.  Hope you enjoy.

Card recipe:
  • Flower 1 from Forever Young at 3.5"
  • Flower embossing folder for the Cuttlebug
  • My Pink Stamper - Everyday Life
